Bath resurfacing, bath enamelling, re-enamelling, bath restoration usually describe the same process. The application of a new durable finish is done on-site by using a hot gun, portable sprayer.   • Sink Resurfacing Sink resurfacing – as the shortest description is to name it a smaller version of bath or shower resurfacing service. Depends how big is the area damaged on the sink, the repair solution can be either to offer a spot repair, or re-coat the entire sink. The steps to prepare for resurfacing a porcelain sink are the same as working with vitreous enamel bath or ceramic shower tray. The damage has to be repaired, substrate cleaned, and etched for adhesion, follow undercoats and finishing glossy topcoat. The topcoat is then dried and polished and if needed the new silicone is applied (free of charge) around it. It’s hardly ever needed to repair the acrylic sink as a whole, but it’s also doable and last long. To make sure that there is a minimum trace after me doing the repair, I always take great care for preparing the site and protect the area around me from spillage, dust or overspray. Depends on the conditions on-site I either create a ‘tent’ (spray booth) around the sink or mask the entire bathroom, protecting walls, floor and anything else from overspray or dust. If you prefer and have your sink disconnected or just picked something unique from the antique shop – I can collect and refinish in a stationary sprayshop in Bristol. The total time required for an entire sink repair and resurfacing is between 4-7hrs, and it will be usable from no later than the following day. Short drying time and the fact that nothing has to be moved or disconnected, makes it a great advantage over replacing the broken basin.

Will my resurfaced bath look like its been painted?

This is a common myth in the bathtub refinishing industry. Your bath will not look like it was painted, since the material we use is a coating, not paint. In fact, our technicians pride themselves on the fact that it is quite difficult for an untrained eye to tell the difference between a brand new bathtub and one that has been refinished by Bath Medic.

How long do we need to wait before using the bath?

With our normal topcoat you can use your tub in 24 hours.

Can you also do bath repairs?

Most of the common problems with acrylic, porcelain, or stone cast shower trays can be sorted with the one-day quality service I offer!

Think of the wasted time and hassle when you discover that along with a damaged shower base replacement you must also pay for the tiler, plumber, and builder…it will not be just a quick installation, and the cost of a new shower base will be the least of your problems. The shower base resurfacing is a one day service, no disconnecting, moving, or unplumb is usually required.
